Tell Congress to invest in
life-saving cancer research.

This Fall, we have an opportunity to break new ground and save more lives in the fight against cancer. For the last 10 years, funding for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) has remained stagnant. Yet, NIH research is one of the biggest reasons U.S. cancer death rates continue to drop each year.

Now is the time to raise our voices, with a loud and clear message to Congress and President Obama:

We need to restore NIH funding.

Let your voice be heard. Ask our lawmakers in Washington to restore the NIH budget.

Invest in Cancer Research

Dear [Decision Maker],

Please restore the federal National Institutes of Health budget.

NIH's research is one of the biggest reasons U.S. cancer death rates continue to drop each year. Yet, as you know, adjusted for inflation, there's been a $10 billion cumulative loss in cancer research funding since 2003.*

That's appalling. That's billions of dollars we could be investing in innovative research programs but aren't. That's thousands of lives that could have been saved, but weren't.

Everyone in this country has been touched by cancer in some way or will be touched at some point. Too many lives have already been lost. And until the day that none of us have to say goodbye to a loved one too soon - until the day when all cancer patients become survivors - we have to do everything in our power to drive life-saving research forward.

As one of your constituents, I urge you to restore federal funding for NIH - more specifically the National Cancer Institute's portion of that budget - this Fall.

We all want to bring an end to cancer. Let's invest together in the life-saving research that can help make this a reality.

Thank you.
